History

  • Yancheng District

Yancheng Household Administration Office was formerly the Household Registration Department, Yancheng District Office in 1946. At that time, the household registration business was controlled by the civil affairs unit or by the local Household Registration Department. In 1969, in order to implement a strict household administration during the period of mobilization for the suppression of Communist and meet the need of public security, the central government promoted the Household-Police Alliance System in Taiwan area.

Commencing from 1973, the household administration business of the civil affairs unit was formally taken over by the police authority. All household administration departments in the county, city, township and district office were renamed to be household administration offices under the jurisdiction of the police bureau of each county and city.
